That article can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fxglobe.com\/where-to-next-for-gold\/\">here<\/a>, and this chart below is what Gold looked like at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fxglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/21Mar2023_Gold_SpotH4-1-1024x655.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11379\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Through the use of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Technical trend analysis (higher highs and higher lows)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Price\u2019s relation to the 50sma<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fibonacci retracements<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support\/Resistance levels<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Trendlines<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I identified and area where <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fxglobe.com\/where-to-next-for-gold\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"24491\">Gold<\/a> could most likely retrace to, and where, according to my strategy, I may be able to find and entry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is where Gold is today:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fxglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/27Mar2023_Gold_SpotH4-1024x655.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11384\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>But now, a very important part of the retail trader\u2019s habits and routines comes to the fore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We must review our trades. We do this, for amongst other reasons:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To see if there was a better entry, better stop loss location. This serves to adjust our strategy going forwards.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To see how the trade played out.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To see if taking partial profits would impact the outcome<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>NB. Trading is NOT the same as Investing- in trading, we understand that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/articles\/active-trading\/090415\/only-take-trade-if-it-passes-5step-test.asp\">market<\/a> moves might be short-lived. This is why we take partial-profits and try not to \u2018ride\u2019 the market move, falsely believing it will go on forever. Plenty of traders go broke never taking a profit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this case, Gold did a measured move up to the recent highs, BUT it stalled, now forming a Double-Top pattern, which could signal a move back down past my entry. Thank goodness my trading plan took that possibility into account!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reviewing trades can also serve to re-affirm that sticking to our strategy has benefits that don\u2019t always seem obvious in real-time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Happy Trading!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi traders!
