Everything You Need to Know About Our MetaTrader 4 Server Name Change

On April 20, 2024, we’re updating our MetaTrader 4 server names. This guide covers all you need to know about the change, including how it affects you and the simple steps you’ll need to follow.

What Are the New Server Names?

Starting from April 20, 2024, you’ll no longer be able to access our servers using the old names. To continue using your MetaTrader 4 account/s, you must connect using our new server names.

Demo

Old: GlobePro-Demo

New: FXGlobeInternational-Demo

Live

Old: GlobePro-Real

New: FXGlobeInternational-Real

How This Change Affects You

During the change on April 20, the trading platform will be down for maintenance from 7:00 to 10:00 am UTC.

Here’s what you need to know:

• During the downtime: You won’t be able to access your accounts (demo or live) briefly.
• After the change: You’ll log in to your account with the new server name.

Instructions for Desktop MetaTrader 4 

If you use the MetaTrader 4 program on your desktop, you’ll need to uninstall and reinstall the app before you can log on to the new servers. 

Step 1: Uninstall the MetaTrader 4 app

1. Select the search button on your taskbar or press the Windows key on the keyboard
2. Search Globe Pro MT4
3. Right-click and select ‘Uninstall’ or click on the ellipsis on the right and select ‘Uninstall’
4. Follow the prompts to remove the app

If you are unable to uninstall, follow the steps below:

1. Find the app on your desktop or taskbar (from where you access it to log in)
2. Right-click and select ‘Open file location’
3. Double-click on ‘Uninstall’

Step 2: Re-install the MetaTrader 4 app

1. Download the new app from your Client Portal
2. Open the ‘fxglobeinternational4setup.exe’ file from your Downloads folder
3. Follow the simple installation steps: Click ‘Next’, then ‘Finish’

Step 3: Log in to your account

1. Open the newly installed MetaTrader 4 app. Tip: Pin the app to the taskbar for easy access.
2. Enter your login details
3. Choose the server FXGlobeInternational-Demo or FXGlobeInternational-Real

If you see the ‘Open an Account’ window instead of the ‘Login to Trade Account’ window, follow these steps:

1. Choose the server: Demo or Real
2. Click ‘Next’
3. Select ‘Existing trade account’
4. Enter your login details.
5. Click ‘Finish’
